Ever After is a 16th century version of Cinderella and it's from the point of view of a noblewoman (possibly, the queen... i haven't watched it in a while). The movie begins when she, the queen, tells the story of where the story of Cinderella originated from. Ever After is filled with humor and romance and drama. Drew Barrymore portrays Cinderella perfectly, with her down-to-earth looks and outgoing personality. The costumes are also phenomenal. It's a great movie to enjoy with friends or family!
Ever After is one of my all time favorite movies! Less campy than The Princess Bride, it is a wonderful spin on the Cinderella story we all know. Drew's character is a spunkier damsel-in-distress than we normally get to see, and Prince Charming doesn't always save the day. I positively adore this flick.
